Things to Do

If you're able to extend your visit into a vacation, here are some places to check out while you're in the area.

Please note the surrounding areas (including Lake Lure and Chimney Rock) were hit hard during Hurricane Helene at the end of September/beginning of October 2024. The area is still recovering and there are less attractions now, as some are currently being repaired or don't exist anymore. We have done our best to list the ones currently open, though we recommend you do some additional research prior to your visit. If you feel it in your heart, we have donation links on our "Gifts" page to aid in the area's recovery and restoration.
